Hypnotherapy for stress and anxiety

Hello,

If you're struggling with stress and anxiety, I'd like to explain how solution-focused hypnotherapy, a technique I use in my practice, can help you feel better.

First off, this approach is all about focusing on the positive – what you want to achieve, rather than getting bogged down in why you're feeling stressed or anxious. It's about looking forward, setting your sights on how you want to feel, and working towards that.

Breaking negative thought patterns

During our sessions, I'll guide you into a relaxed state using hypnosis. This isn't like what you see in movies; it's simply about guiding you into a deeply relaxed state where your mind is more receptive to positive suggestions and new ways of thinking. This can be really effective in breaking those repetitive, negative thought patterns often linked with stress and anxiety.

One of the key things we'll do together is rediscover your inner skills and resources and use them to build better coping strategies. We'll visualise a future where you've overcome your stress or anxiety, which helps in setting clear goals and in recognising your own strengths and ways to cope. This is really empowering – it's about shifting the focus from feeling overwhelmed to feeling in control.

Understanding stress and anxiety

Stress and anxiety are common emotions many of us encounter, each person experiencing them in their own way. Stress often manifests as a sense of pressure or tension, like the feeling of running late for an important meeting, with your heart racing and thoughts whirling. It's your body's alarm system signalling a need for attention.

Anxiety, however, typically involves worry or fear about future events. It's like the suspense in a thriller movie, leaving you on edge. This worry, often about things that might seem overblown or irrational to others, can feel very real and paralysing, leading to physical symptoms like a churning stomach or sleeplessness.

Real or imagined, the emotional brain can’t tell the difference

While stress is usually a reaction to a known threat, such as a heavy workload, anxiety often stems from the anticipation of an undefined threat. These feelings can significantly impact our daily lives, affecting concentration, mood, decision-making, and even sleep patterns.

A moderate amount of stress can be motivating, but when it becomes overwhelming, it can harm our health, happiness, and quality of life. Stress and anxiety often show up in physical ways – maybe headaches, muscle tension, or stomach issues. The relaxation part of hypnotherapy can help reduce these symptoms. It's quite amazing how relaxing the body can help relax the mind, leading to a reduction in overall anxiety levels.

Tailored therapy for lasting change

Unlike some therapies that can take a long time, we’ll aim for positive changes in a relatively short period. This can be very encouraging if you're keen to find relief sooner rather than later. And, of course, everything we do is tailored to you. Your sessions will be specific to your needs and goals, addressing the unique ways stress and anxiety affect you for more effective results.

I’ll also add that while this therapy is effective for many, it's not a one-size-fits-all solution, and results can vary from person to person. If you have severe anxiety or other mental health issues, it's always best to consult with a healthcare professional, like your GP, before, or alongside our sessions.

Solution focused hypnotherapy addresses a range of issues, including abandonment, abuse, anger, anxiety, childhood trauma, concentration problems, generalised anxiety disorder, health anxiety, identity issues, imposter syndrome, inadequacy, job interview nerves, low confidence, panic attacks, panic disorder, PTSD, presentation nerves, relationship problems, and sexual problems.

In our sessions, we'll team up to focus on your desired future and use the power of your subconscious mind to build on your strengths. This can lead to real, lasting change, equipping you with tools and perspectives to overcome stress and anxiety.

As your hypnotherapist, I'll guide you through this process, offering a space for positive visualisation, relaxation, and empowerment. I understand that taking the first step can be daunting, but I'm here to support you every step of the way.

So, if you're ready for change, or if you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to take a proactive step towards a healthier, happier future by booking a free 30-minute online consultation.
